Christian Dibble trained as a postdoc in Brendan Manning's lab at Harvard, where he worked out how the TSC1/TSC2 complex integrates growth-factor and nutrient signals to control mTORC1.
In 2012 he identified TBC1D7 as a third, stably associated subunit of the TSC1-TSC2 complex, completing its core composition, and went on to show how PI3K signalling and nutrient cues are integrated by mTORC1 to coordinate a cell's biosynthetic output with its nutrient supply. He now runs his own lab at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School.
