SLC4A7/NBCn1 maintains intracellular pH to support mTORC1 activity and antibody-secreting cell differentiation
What this study shows
SLC4A7/NBCn1, a Na/HCO3 cotransporter, maintains intracellular pH needed for mTORC1 activity during B-cell differentiation into antibody-secreting cells; its loss causes intracellular acidification, lysosomal alkalinization, impaired mTORC1 function, and blunted antibody responses in vivo.
At a glance
| Evidence type | A Animal model Marked A because it is an animal intervention or observation study measuring an organismal outcome (model: Mouse (SLC4A7 conditional knockout, in vivo immunization/influenza infection); primary B cells in vitro); the code names the system studied -- animal work can be rigorous and still not be human data. |
| Study type | 4 - Animal Study |
